Did ya'll here that our lovely First Lady, Mrs. Obama, is getting some criticism in the press these days, for displaying her muscular arms?
Ya know, I am not trying to get political at all, but give me some strength, some physical strength, any day, over weak, flabby, spindly arms...

What is wrong with our society when someone who is a mom, a professional, the #1 gal on the block, who obviously works hard to care for her physical self - can be criticized for trying to preserve her physical functionality, health and appearance? AAAhhhh!
c'mon, people, let's wake up, get up, and get going!

Do Something, move something, be strong, preserve! Don't age gracefully - FIGHT IT EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!

NPC San Diego was jammin'!

Congratulations to all the athletes who competed this past weekend! And a very special thanks to Jon Lindsay and his crew, for putting on this jam-packed show~sold out, standing room only, over 160 athletes - it was a veritable madhouse!

Team 619 Muscle, family and friends were out in full force! We had 15 friends and family from the local area, covering just about all divisions. Congratulations to those of our crew who earned some brass to take home, and great work to all for bringing in their best game. Our top honors went to Duda Bueno, who won the novice middles and took the runner up spot in the open lightheavies. For the ladies, Brenda Vidrio strutted her way to the runner up spot in the new Bikini division, and Kristi Krasja worked her way past all but 2 of he 22 girls in the Figure C class! Great job all!

619 Muscle, this is how we do it! Mad props to our other competitors, including Big Lou Uridel, who presented with a tighter package than last year; great job Jack Hill, who brought more size and thickness this year, taking 2nd in masters lightweight, 2nd in novice lights, and 4th in open middles; Eric Raposa grabbed a 2nd spot in lights; and Rory Love walked on stage big and full, grabbing 4th in novice lightheavy and open middles; great job Ms. Stephanie Love and Ima Somers, two beautiful ladies who have made dramatic improvements in their physiques have only just begun this journey of personal transformation!

Friendly hello to our pro friends who stopped by the booth, including Richard Jones, Nasser Sonbaty, Sonya Gonzalez, Gina Aliotti, Zhana Rotar, and plenty more!- of course Derik "the Freak" Farnsworth and our big bro, Brandon Curry, who was reppin' for his sponsor, BSN, at our 619 Muscle booth - it was a busy show!

And of course, the legendary poser, PD Devers, rocked the house as guest poser at this show. Rock and roll, 619 style, PD!

It was a killer crazy show! The NPC is alive and well in the 619!

We live a circus world of self-improvement that some may misunderstand - they call us vain, call us selfish or self-centered...heck, we are only doing what God put us here to do.

We are fighting hard, reaching out, striving, driving to be the absolute best we can be...achieving our own personal potential - on the stage, in the gym, on the playing field, on the matt, under the squat bar, in the office, in church, with our children, with our friends, our families...we are working hard, doing the best we can. NPC San Diego Championships is here!

Best of luck to all the competitors in the upcoming Jon Lindsay production of the NPC San Diego Championships!

This promises to be one helluva kick ass event! I know that there will be all of San Diego's muscle out in full force this year!
And the new NPC bikini division is gonna be rockin' for sure!
Let's pray for a great show, and everyone rock the stage! All the best to each and every single competitor!

We call it the Brutal Truth.
When you look at the man in the mirror, what does he really say? It's the long hard look that says it all.
Are you working hard enough?
Are you living up to your potential?
Are you the best you can be?
Are you giving it all you got?
Are you seizing the day, taking all that life has to offer, and making all you can out of it?

Life is rarely easy...and it's not often fair. But in the end, is it where you end up that matters? Or is it how far you have come, from where you started, that defines your path?

Ask yourself what you've done to enrich the lives of those around you, those you see and touch every day...and you know what, I think you may be surprised to see how much you actually impact other people - and know that you are a part of something bigger than just you...
But, without YOU, there is nothing.

Like Rocky said in his last episode, "it's not how hard you hit, but how hard you can get hit and still get up keep moving forward..." Keep getting up...keep getting up...
